Working Together
Festivals Edinburgh is a uniquely collaborative organisation: created and driven by the collective ambition, vision and mandate of its twelve member festivals.
Festivals Edinburgh is a uniquely collaborative organisation: created by and reliant on the collective ambition, will and mandate of the 12 member festivals to deliver on the strategic priorities outlined in the Thundering Hooves report. Its board is comprised of the 12 Directors or CEOs of the Festivals, and the current Chair is Kath M Mainland, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society.
Whilst the Festivals have worked together on a number of tactical initiatives in the past (such as the first joint festivals gateway website in the late 90s), their decision to create Festivals Edinburgh in 2006 – with the company registration in October 2007 - enabled these and other initiatives and relationships to be developed and extended within a more strategic framework and has allowed for much greater cohesion across wider partnerships.
